John Stone and "Oronsa"

I received an interesting email from an individual who was researching John Stone, an engineer who was on watch and one of three persons killed when a torpedo struck the Oronsa. For your information I have included a line drawing of the ship and also the photo of a photo of John Stone.

Hello Barry,
I wonder if you could offer me any advice. I am currently seeking any details I can find with reference to the above named ship, which was sunk by a torpedo on the 28th. of April 1918.

I am in possession of a copy of the crew list, which records that the ship was working in the Valparaiso area. My main interest is in finding details of one of the three killed crewmen, 6th. Engineer John Stone, (I enclose a copy of a memorial photograph) however I should dearly like to find a drawing or photograph of the ship.
The Master was F. Holt Hobson and the owners were Pacific Steam Navigation Company.

Thank you for your time
Yours
John Jones

I did send him the line drawing from Duncan Haws' book but if anyone has anything better do let me know please. The crew list may be of interest to some of you and I have asked John to send it to me so that I can post it on the web site.

1918 April 28 Torpedoed off Bardsey Island whilst in convoy on a bright moonlight night. Her boilers blew up and the ship sank with the loss of three lives.
